Mariana Ruvalcaba Cruz is a Mexican artist and MFA candidate at Texas A&M University- Corpus Christi. She received her BFA in sculpture and a psychology minor at the University of the Incarnate Word in San Antonio, Texas. and is currently a first year
Through sculptural and two-dimensional mediums, she blurs the line between real and fictional by overlapping, distorting, and manipulating the human figure and other natural elements. She is interested in creating surreal narratives to communicate individual experiences, emotions, psychological struggles, relationships with the self and others, and the environment. Her work has been displayed in numerous regional, national, and international exhibitions.
